Haas has announced that Nikita Mazepin will stay in the team

The young Russian will stay at Haas despite the recent scandal.

Nikita Mazepin has already become a part of a huge story even before his official F1 debut. Several weeks ago a video of an inappropriate character was posted on his Instagram page. That caused a huge wave of criticism towards the 21-year-old Russian and a lot of fans demanded Haas to terminate the contract with him. The team decided to start an internal investigation of the case.

Haas has just shared a statement via social media, in which they have announced that Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin will stay in the team in the upcoming season.

The team has also revealed that the incident with Mazepin’s Instagram video is resolved and there will be no comments made about it in the future. This means that Nikita Mazepin will definitely drive for Haas in 2021, though the story seems to be far from its end, regarding the reaction from the Formula 1 fan community and the damage to reputation made after such conduct.
